UNO
ATHLETIC MASTER
PLAN

Located south of the Aksarben Village Development in Omaha, this master plan examined the potential location of several university athletic facilities in relationship to the planned location of Baxter Arena and Holland Community Ice Rink.

Required parking for the arena and walking distances to the arena along with site topography - including consideration of an existing creek bisecting the site drove the framework for the placement of many of the future facilities.

While the initial program considered the possibility of student housing the final program of facilities included a new multisport field, baseball and softball stadiums, an indoor and outdoor tennis complex and a new indoor athletic complex accommodating a 300 meter track and associated support facilities.

Throughout the master planning process, three dimensional massing models were
utilized to better understand the visual implications of each option considered.
