NURNBERG,
GERMANY
This project was a study for Oshino Lamps new office and manufacturing location in Nurnberg, Germany. The owner wanted to explore plan, elevational and massing variations on an initial layout.
The office portion of the project is a three story element fronting the adjacent street while the manufacturing area is tucked behind the offices in a high bay steel-framed structure.
In this scheme the main circulation stair was pulled out from an internalized position to create a strong vertical element where various Oshino Lamps products could be featured. In addition, the façade was manipulated to create a heightened presence along with outside balconies and an exterior terrace for employees and visiting clients.
At the manufacturing area, continuous skylight elements staggered with the structural framing were suggested to provide staff a work environment with abundant natural light.
