Assemblies is an art-based line of furnishings that explores how everyday items and accessories might be re-thought and re-imagined.

This assembly is a tie rod for hanging ties fabricated out of brushed stainless steel, brass, steel wire and rubber bushings at the wall surface.

​

Except at the wall surface, no connections are fixed.  The hanging rod and associated connections are held rigid by tension.  Detailing strives to clarify the relationship of the components while the act of hanging a tie actually works against the required tension, creating a certain “edge”.

The product was entered into a furniture competition sponsored by Progressive Architecture magazine and received a jury commendation.​
